DYMETROL COMPANY, INC. – a longtime AutoScreen Customer

The Dymetrol Company was established in may 1993 when management of the Dupont Company's Dymetrol ® product line acquired the business from Dupont. Dymetrol products are based on a unique polymer orientation technology developed by Dupont engineers which imparts strength three to four times that of unoriented extruded shapes. Dymetrol's manufacturing facilities are located in Bladenboro, North Carolina. http://www.dymetrol.com/

AutoScreen Changer Continuous Extrusion Process" When our comapny was a part of Dupont Co., Dymetrol purchased AutoScreens for all extrusion lines in 1975 or 1976. Before the introduction of the AutoScreen, we were shutting down at least every 8 - 12 hours to manually change the screen pack. After the introduction of the AutoScreen, we only shut down to change products, or when the screen expired.

Dymetrol elected to have a manual indexing cycle rather than an automatic cycle. The operator would determine at what point to index the screen, but the screen was moved at last once every 2 hours ( 1-2 inches). If the feedstock was dirty, indexing would occur more frequently, sometimes as often as every 20 minutes.

During the years these AutoScreens have taken a lot of abuse, but they are still in operation today. Our mechanics have reworked the screen inlet box on 2 of the 4 units, and they now work as well as a new one out of the box.

The AutoScreen is a simple piece of equipment, but a vital part of any continuous extrusion process."
